We rescued the kids and they’re safe and sound. Well, as safe and sound as they can be with their mothers giving them death glares for being out in the middle of a blizzard.
I would not want to be in their place right now.
Bato took a nasty spill in the bay but he’s alright thanks to the timely intervention of Pakku.
It could have ended a lot worse, thank Yue it didn’t :)
They had returned just in time.
Pakku glanced out his window at the dark clouds racing towards his house, “Looks like it will be a fairly big storm,” he commented.
The wind picked up and the first few flakes of snow began to fall, a testament to the extreme weather in the poles. Here it was, the middle of summer, and they were getting snow.
There was nothing he could do about the weather but hunker down and wait it out, he hoped that Kierra and Kya were on land and not in the middle of the storm.
Rapid knocking at the door snapped him out of his thoughts and he fought the wind to open it. He saw a former student of his standing in the doorway, covered in snow, “Master Pakku!” he shouted over the wind, “A few kids went out to try and sail in the storm! They’re trapped!”
“In this weather?!” Pakku exhaled angrily, “Go get Chief Hakoda! Get him to put together a rescue party. I’ll be down on the docks.”
“Yes Master Pakku,” the student bowed and ran off towards the Chief’s house.
Pakku donned his parka and ran out into the storm, “Fools!” he exclaimed as he rushed to the docks.
Hakoda was already at the docks with a small rescue party when Pakku arrived, he nodded to his step-father, “The boys are out in the middle of the bay. We’re splitting up into two boats, Pakku, I need you and the other waterbenders to keep the water as calm as possible around our boats.
“Get rope and spears, anything for those boys to grab onto,” Hakoda barked to his other men, “Bato, lead the other boat with Pakku, I’ll be on this one,” he said, getting into another boat, “Come on! We don’t have much time!”
Hello … I’m back, with seal meat and I brought a blizzard with me
I’ll be back with lots of seal blubber! :D

Hakoda looked down at his daughter, he was holding her in the living room, bouncing her up and down, trying to get her to stop crying. Her sobs slowly stopped and he smiled, relieved when he saw her peaceful sleeping face.
“You’re a beautiful girl,” he said, holding still for a second to look at her face.
